Coalition of Concerned Floating Voters Appeals To NDC

Paraphrasing a note from the Institute of Economic Affairs under the Auspices of the Ghana Political Parties Programme that Those who wish to govern must allow themselves to be subjected to probing questions by the people, to ensure that they understand their concerns and have the capacity to address them. As part of IEAs efforts to meaningfully consolidate Multiparty Democracy and promote Issue Based Elections in Ghana for 2012 General Elections, so far IEA had hosted Presidential Candidates for the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), Peoples National Convention (PNC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at its Evening Encounters. We, the Coalition of Concerned Floating Voters of Ghana (Friends of Democracy) are at a dilemma whether or not the Presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will avail himself to table out what its party has in-stock for Ghanaians if they are given the nod to ascend again to power come 7th December, 2012 General Elections. We, the Coalition of Concerned Floating Voters deemed it fit that the Evening Encounter episode with Political Parties which has representatives in Parliament is the best platform for Ghanaians including Floating Voters to make informed choices and opinions about each presidential Candidate that if we give them our mandate, we will not be neglected but treated with dignity and moreover enjoy the National Cake in-terms of distribution of the National Resources and creation of jobs for all. We are therefore appealing to the National Democratic Congress Executives as matter of urgency to rescind their decision of not taking part in the IEAs Evening Encounter in addition to the Presidential Debate rather join hands with IEA to help promote constructive political discourse in an election which most Ghanaians want it to be focused on issues and policies rather than personal attacks and hate speeches which can go a long way to derail our Multiparty Democracy. Long live Ghana, Long live all the Institutions which are championing Multiparty Democracy and Good Governance and good-luck to all the Presidential Aspirants in the forth-coming elections. Lets come together as Ghanaians first to help build Ghana our motherland in all spheres. Signed by
