NPP Committed To Continuity Of Government Projects

Many past governments in Ghana have routinely shunned projects and policies initiated by their predecessors, proceeding to start new ones from scratch even if their own initiatives, hardly differ from those of the government that preceded theirs. Some of these projects, funded with the tax payers money, are left to deteriorate. This leads to extra cost and it slows down the development of the country. Concerns have been raised against this act by political parties. However, NPP MP for Bimbilla, Dominic Nitiwul says the party is committed to continuity of government projects, if given the nod during the December 7 presidential and parliamentary polls. He said this in an interview with e.tv Ghana news during the partys media interaction on its manifesto, in Accra. Dominic Nitiwul noted that the NPP would not abandon projects started by the NDC government. Rather, he said, the party would look for a sustainable source of funding in order to propel those projects whilst building on its outline projects. We will not abandon any projects started by the NDC as long as that project is in the interest of the Republic of Ghana and the people of Ghana. But if you are going to do a political project that everybody clearly sees that it is a political project, why will the NPP continue it? But all projects that are of national interest we will make sure we complete them first even before starting all our projects, he said. The NPP, among other things in its manifesto has promised to embark on heavy industrialization projects spanning from health to education, unemployment and macroeconomic growth.
