Presby Church Exposes Twum Boafo

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana has exposed Kwadwo Ansah Twum Boafo as not being a member of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. Mr. Twum Boafo who is a member of the government Communication Team and Executive Secretary of Ghana Free Zones Board, on Tuesday issued a statement announcing his resignation from the Presbyterian Church of Ghana on the back of a communiqu from the church cautioning the Electoral Commission against the creation of the 45 new constituencies. But in an interview with Citi News , the Public Affairs Director of the Presbyterian Church, Emmanuel Osei Acheampong said their checks at the Christ Congregation in Akropong Akuapem indicates that Mr. Twum Boafo is not a member of the church saying, it is his father, Mr. Twum Boafo Snr. who is a registered member of the Presbyterian Church. What qualifies someone to be a qualified member of the Presbyterian Church is that you need to have a membership card and you need to be paying your tithe but records from the Church indicates that Mr. Twum Boafo jnr only attends church as an occasional member and this has been collaborated by his brothers and other siblings, he added. Mr. Acheampong further stated that in his resignation letter, he stated that he belongs to the Prince of Peace Presbytery, there is nothing like Prince of Peace Presbytery in Presbyterian Church of Ghana. So for now the Presbyterian Church of Ghana wants the general public to know and be aware that Mr. Kwadwo Ansah Twum Boafo is not a member of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. He however called on Kwadwo Ansah Twum Boafo to rather resign from the NDC over comments made by the General Secretary of the NDC against the Church. He said: The Moderator and the Presbyterian Church of Ghana is intact. Again the so called misbehavior he attributed to the Public Relations Officer is neither here nor there. Let us bear in mind that Mr. Twum Boafo is a Presbyterian and if he really wants to aspire his resignation to the moral upbringing of Presbyterianism, then the highest form of disrespect shown by Mr. Nketia against the Moderator of the Church should have been the basis for his resignation.
