CAF Sets October 24 As New Date For 2013 AFCON Final Draw

The Confederation of African Football (Caf) will now hold the final draw for the South Africa 2013 Africa Cup of Nations on October 24. The football governing body of the continent had initially set October 26 for the draw. The Issa Hayatou-led organization failed to assign any reason for the change of date. The event will take place in Durban. Fifteen teams will join hosts South Africa in the draw after the final qualifying games take place in October. Matches for the next edition of the Afcon will take place in Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth, Rustenburg, Nelspruit and Durban. The tournament will run from January 19 to February 10. Zambia are the reigning African Champions after beating Ivory Coast in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea early this year.
