Amissah-Arthur Confirmed As Mahama's Running Mate...

It is now official and Peacefmonline.com can confirm that the Council of Elders and National Executive Committee (NEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have approved Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur, the Vice President as running mate to President John Dramani Mahama for the 2012 election. Mr Amissah-Arthurs approval, followed his nomination by President Mahama to the partys NEC, who met today to deliberate on the presidents nominee. An NDC NEC member, Bede Ziedeng, who confirmed the news a short while ago, told Citi News in an interview: The president submitted a single nominee to the Council of Elders on Monday and [they] endorsed the nominee. He proceeded to meet NEC on Tuesday, where he submitted the name of his running mate in the person of the sitting vice president, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur. When he submitted the name various organs of the party all spoke to the issue and endorsed the Presidents nomination. Later, National Chairman of the NDC, Dr. Kwabena Adjei said Mr Amissah-Arthur was accepted overwhelmingly after a brief "consultation". We understand ourselves and we position our minds in positive directions every time, and for that matter we have a way of policing the positivity of minds, we put our minds positively to an event or instance and we achieve it. There was consultation, the President said this is the guy I want and then we all said that he is a good guy, the chairman said. With the approval of Vice-President Amissah-Arthur done with, all is set for him to be officially outdoored by the ruling party at the National Theatre in Accra later today. More soon...
