Rawlings Does Not Fully Support NDC NDP

The General Secretary for the National Democratic Party (NDP), Dr Mamboa-Rockson has said comments by former President Jerry John Rawlings does not indicate his full support for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC). According to him, Mr. Rawlings statement about the ruling party only goes to suggest an improvement in the chances of the party in the December elections and not a win. Speaking on Citi FMs Eyewitness News, Dr. Mamboa-Rockson mentioned that the NDP stands a better chance to win the December elections just as the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He said: From what I understand as a political analyst, what I believe is going to happen is that Ghanaians have been able to determine between the two parties. They have seen the NPP in government, they have seen the NDC too and they have come to the realization that these two parties cannot offer anything different. Dr. Mamboa-Rockson advised that the NDC founders comments should not be interpreted in isolation saying, you dont have to take portions of it. He might have said that in another contest what the competition might be. The NDP General Secretary also added that the party is expecting the former President to campaign for the NDP if his wife, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings accepts to be the partys flagbearer. Our expectation is, after we are able to convince Mrs. Rawlings to come on board as our presidential candidate, we will be able to convince the former President Jerry John Rawlings to campaign for the NDP, he explained.
