The Oguaa (Cape Coast) Traditional Council has thrown its weight and offered the spiritual blessings to Vice � President (VP) Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah � Arthur to clench victory at the December 2012 elections and bring honour home. �God be with you. Thanks for visiting us at home. Go and bring victory�, Osaberima Kwasi � Atta, Paramount Chief of Oguaa, said on Saturday at his palace, the Obama Hall in Cape Coast. Osaberima Atta was welcoming the Vice President who was acclaimed the running mate of President John Dramani Mahama last Tuesday to the Central Regional capital Mr Amissah � Arthur had paid a courtesy call on the Omanhene, the chief and elders to solicit their blessings at the start of the campaign for Election 2012. �I have known you for sometime. I went to Adisadel College and I used to pass in front of your grandfather�s house to school�, Osaberima Atta said, debunking the rumours that the Vice President and running mate was not a known figure in Cape Coast. He congratulated the Vice President on his selection as the running mate to President Mahama and gave the assurance that Oguaaman (Oguaa state) was behind him. He advised the VP to keep his calm in the face of provocation to avoid conflict and invited supporters to keep to his nature and avoid conflicts that would negatively affect the NDC�s running mate. Mrs Matilda Amissah Arthur who accompanied the VP was commended by the Oguaamanhene for her support which had brought the running mate thus far and urged her to keep it up. The Vice President said he grew up in Cape Coast toddling through nursery to secondary school and that he had his extended family in Cape Coast and therefore asked the constituents to give the ruling NDC their vote come December seven. Prayers were said for the VP, the government and people of Ghana. The VP had earlier visited Mankessim and Anomabu where he interacted with the chief and people at separate durbars. He assured them of government�s wide consultations in the governance process and requested their support for victory in Election 2012. At Anomabu, Mr. Aquinas Kwansah, MP Mfantsiman West, assured the people that government would fulfil the promise to establish a fisheries University in the area.
