Ghana Is Moving Like A Plane Without A Navigator

As Ghanaians mark the 103rd birthday of its founder and first Prime Minister, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah on Friday; the country has still failed to produce visionary leaders and since 1966 after the overthrow of the late President, resorted to moving in circles to reach its promised land. This is according to Rt. Rev. Samuel Noi Mensah, a leadership and governance consultant of Omega Leadership International (OLI) and Bishop of the Full Gospel Church International located at Tema Community One. In an interview with the Heritage newspaper, ahead of Dr. Nkrumah anniversary, Rev. Mensah noted that until the country finds true leaders, it will continue to move in circles because it has no natural leaders. Ghana is not going anywhere because it has no national vision. We are moving just in circles. There is no vision driving the nation forward which is the starting point. The country is moving like a plane or an aircraft without a navigator, Rt. Rev. Mensah stated. According to him, Ghana is yet to see a strong vibrant leader like Dr. Nkrumah whom through his vision transformed the country within the shortest possible time. Rev. Mensah further made the assertion that manifestos and policies by the various political parties in the country, though it helps, but will not lead the nation to anywhere unless we come out with a better national vision for all the socio-economic sectors from all experts and stakeholders who matters.
