National Youth for John Mahama (NYJM) has embarked on Market-to-Market campaign to encourage Ghanaians to vote for the sitting Head of State, in the upcoming presidential election in December 7, 2012.
The group started its campaign from Makola to Kantamanto and Agbogboloshi markets, to engage Ghanaians on the need to vote for President John Mahama.
According to the National Coordinator for NYJM, Abu Karim, the network is not a supporter or functional group of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) but only wanted victory for John Mahama because of his role as unifier and peace maker.
From the time the President ventured into politics, Abu noted that he had never heard the former Member of Parliament for Bola-Bamboi preaching message of confusion, insult, violence or other vices, adding �the president is a genuine Politian.�
Karim added that due to the political tolerance of the President, immediately he assumed office as head of State, he called on all political parties in the country to dialogue as one nation with common destiny.
�This clearly shows that the President is not a greedy man. He is the man God has blessed Ghana with. He is the man who will give us the peace we need,� the national coordinator recommended.
He said the network have representatives across the country which Greater Accra alone having over 400,000 registered members.
Adding to the voice of the network was Prof. H. B Martinson of Institute of Northern Ghana, Weija, who compared President Mahama to Dr. Kwame Nkrumah because of the ability to speak his mind concerning Cuba, even at an international platform like the United Nations General Assembly.
Prof. Martinson emphasized that the president�s courage to plead for the lifting of Cuba�s economic blockade clearly shows that John Mahama is a true Pan-Africanist, who wants liberation not for his country alone, but others as well.
He added that when Ghana had the opportunity to host the Africa Union conference for a second time, the whole Africa was expecting that the country will play a leading role for a united continent, but everyone was disappointed when the then government could not take a stand on the issue.
He, therefore, stated that the failure of the then government was because the Busia tradition has never believed in Pan-Africanism or fight for the interest of Africa.
