The National Democratic Party has postponed its intended congress indefinitely. Interim General Secretary, Dr Joseph Mamboah-Rockson, told XYZ News the postponement was necessitated by the party�s inability to secure a venue. He told XYZ News the party is struggling to secure a venue which can accommodate all the 7000 people expected at the Congress. Dr Mamboah-Rockson said former President Rawlings and his wife are expected to be at the Congress. Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings is currently the favourite to lead the party into the December polls although she has not come out to confirm it publicly. Dr Mamboah-Rockson told XYZ News the party has decided to open up its search for a venue rather than limit it to the Ashanti. �Schools are in session so it�s a little bit difficult to get a location. We are expecting seven thousand people� and we have to find accommodation for all of them,� he lamented. He said the party cannot afford hotels for its delegates and that it has become more difficult to find a decent area where they can converge. Dr. Rockson revealed that due to the current difficulties, the party has expanded its search for an appropriate location. He said �this time it is a little bit hard so we are looking at several options now. We were looking at one region and we have opened up to two or three regions.�
