Rawlings Man Endorses Akufo-Addo...Says NPP Has Men Of Wisdom...

A close pal of former President Rawlings and his family, Akwasi Ofei Agyeman, yesterday endorsed the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, as the most suitable person to be considered for the nations presidency as the electorate prepare to the polls for the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections. Dr Ofei Agyeman, a former National Democratic Congress parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso Central constituency, was emphatic in expressing his conviction that Nana Akufo-Addo is the kind of a visionary leader Ghana, as well as Africa, needs at the moment to ensure rapid development. Speaking on Adom FM, he also showered volumes of praises over the NPP, describing the party as group made up of men of wisdom who have the track record of work to deliver to meet the needs and aspirations of the people. On the contrary, Dr Agyeman sees the ruling National Democratic as a group people of mediocrity who do not have the ability to create the needed wealth for development. He insisted Nana Akufo-Addo was poised to win the upcoming December 7 presidential election to implement his proposed free senior high school education policy that people say is not possible, and further carry out his plans to make West Africa and Africa as a whole economically independent. He chastised the NDC for pouring cold water on Akufo-Addos free SHS education proposal, lamenting: Im at a loss as to how people in government do not know how to create wealth to fund such a programme. Im dead sure that Nana Akufo-Addo should take the election, Dr Agyeman stated, explaining that the NPP was poised to win the December polls, primarily because of its democratic credentials, epitomized through the expansion of the partys Electoral College to over 115,000, as opposed to the approximately 3000 that voted for President Mills last year and the less than 3000 that endorsed President Mahama last month. Meanwhile, Dr Offei Agyeman, a founding member of the National Democratic Party, has announced his resignation from the party whose formation was linked to former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings. He told listeners of Adom FMs Dwaso Nsem morning show yesterday that his decision was occasioned by a number of factors, including the inability of the NDP leadership to analyse its resources and focus on priorities. "After receiving the certificate from the EC, I thought we would analyse our resources and prioritise. But this has not happened. Even a Congress to elect a flag bearer has been postponed twice, he lamented.
