Free SHS Is Feasible - NPP Leaders

Four leading members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have lauded the vision of the partys Presidential Candidate to introduce free SHS education next academic year, saying the policy is feasible. The four members are Mr Yaw Osafo Maafo, former Finance and Education Minister, Mr Akwasi Osei Adjei, former Foreign Affairs Minister, Mr Maxwell Nsowah, former Acting Director Ghana Education Service (GES) and Mr Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, MP for Assin North. Speaking at a forum in Tema organised by Mr Kofi Brako, NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Tema East, they contended that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's free SHS would relieve parents and guardians of the burden of paying school fees. They therefore urged the Ghanaian electorate to give their mandate to Nana Akufo-Addo to enable him to implement his SHS policy. They said the cup of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was full and for that matter they should prepare to relinquish power to the NPP on December 7. They said the NPP was the only party that had the future of the youth at heart and therefore urged Ghanaians to vote for the party to enable it to implement policies and programmes that would help transform the lives of the country's youth. Mr Brako, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Tema East urged the constituents to vote for him on December 7, assuring them that he would change the face of Tema if he became their representative in Parliament. Other leading members of the NPP who also spoke at the function were Mr Sammy Awuku, Mr Yaw Adumako Baafi and Mr Daniel Nii Kwatei Titus-Glover.
