I Saved Rawlings From Going To Jail 6 Years Ago Alhaji Bature

The Managing Editor of the Al-Hajj newspaper, Alhaji Bature Iddrisu, claims he saved former President Jerry John Rawlings from a lengthy jail term about 6 years ago. Although he declined to give the reasons, the Al-Hajj Editor insists "there are living witnesses" to his deeds and has challenged the former President to deny it. Alhaji Bature made the claim on Adom FMs Dwaso Nsem morning show of October 15, 2012 while commenting on the endorsement of former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings as flagbearer of the breakaway party National Democratic Party over the weekend. Speaking at the same NDP congress in Kumasi on Saturday, former President Rawlings, founder of the NDC, predicted his party was set to lose the December poll because it had lost the moral high ground and was immersed in corruption. The NDCs parliamentary candidates were also set for a drubbing, with a revolution set to rock the party after the polls. However, Alhaji Bature insists Mr Rawlings is not the true founder of the NDC, has no moral right to preach about virtues, and is only a free man today because he (Bature) saved him from a lengthy jail term about 6 years ago. You are not a saint, President Rawlings. You know it! I will not sit down to destroy the memory of President Mills. I want Rawlings to come out and say I did not save him from going to jail and I will bring out the details. There are living witnesses who can attest to this, he challenged. Alhaji Bature dared the Rawlingses to embark on their revolution, saying Let them dare. We will start the revolution with them. We will start the revolution with him. We shall show the world what kind of person Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings is, who Jerry Rawlings is.
