I Pity Bawumia Asiedu Nketia

The General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has advised the NPPs presidential running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to rather be concerned with his stakes in the NPP as the party sees in him nothing beyond a running mate. He said: I pity him indeed because you will hear from your Presidential candidate saying that he didnt want to choose a running mate from the frontliners so that was why he settled on you. Dr Bawumia has been chastising the ruling government for the lack of development in the three northern regions, saying an NPP government will improve the living standards of the people. But in an interview with Citi News, Mr. Nketia opined that when Nana Addo retires, Dr. Bawumia will have no opportunity of taking over the mantle saying, the lot of the Northerners in the NPP is just to rise to a certain point beyond which you cannot go. And so he should be concerned about that first. He said: If there is a party that does not respect you enough to think that you can be the number one and then you are still following that party only to be dumped after the next selection of a Presidential candidate that is your own business. So he will help himself if he stops these lamentations. The NDC General Secretary advised the NPPs Presidential running mate saying, Dr. Bawumia will do himself a lot of good if he concentrates on what he thinks will be the alternative to NDCs mode of development in the North. Its on record that when Courage Quarshigah [late agricultural minister] visited Pwalugu, he wept and it became a national issue. He said he was weeping about the neglect of the place. He went to Bolga meat factory and repeated the weeping and created the impression that heavens have descended onto the North and that the North was going to be turned into some miracle zone. What happened? So he should go and check from the records of his own partys performance, Mr. Nketia chided.
