NDP Woos Electoral Commission?

Sources close to peacefmonline.com indicates that the leadership of the National Democratic Party (NDP) is at the premises of the Electoral Commission trying to address issues surrounding their disqualification and rejection of their nomination form. The NDP had major errors in filing their nomination forms and were hence disqualified since yesterday was the final date for submission of nomination forms for all political parties. Speaking in an interview on Peace News, Ernest Owusu Bempah, Deputy Communication Director of NDP said they went to the Electoral Commission (EC) today because they were asked to report at 9 am to complete submitting their forms. According to him, contrary to media reports that the NDP has been disqualified, they were just asked to go for their introductory letter and that explains their presence at the ECs office this morning. It is not true that there were errors on our nomination forms and that led to our disqualification. On the normal circumstance, we got there exactly on time but after the EC went through our forms, he asked for our letter of introduction, which we had left in our car. Upon request, we went for it but he said he had closed the nominations and asked us to come laterThey cant disqualify us because the rule is that if you dont get there before 5pm you will be disqualified and we got there before time; and our documents were even collected. So if any change comes in, we will be totally surprised he said. As at the time of this interview, the NDP has submitted their forms and were awaiting the EC's response.
