Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, NPP Running Mate to Nana Akufo-Addo has stated that a vote for the National Democratic Congress in the upcoming December Elections is a vote for more of the suffering and hardships the NDC has inflicted on the people of Ghana, since they took the mantle of leadership in 2009. Dr. Bawumia was speaking on the 4th day of his 7 day Upper West Regional tour in Manwe, a community in the Wa East constituency. Speaking to hundreds of indigenes and residents of Manwe during a community durbar, Dr. Bawumia said �we elect governments to solve our problems and to make our lives better. Unfortunately for the people of Ghana, in the last four years, the government we elected has rather added to our suffering and hardships. They promised a better Ghana but instead they have delivered a Harder, Bitter and Wahala Ghana and this is evident in the rise in prices of all goods in the market, in the rise of school fees, in the virtual collapse of the NHIS and in the unprecedented joblessness of our youth. On December 7th therefore, Ghanaians have a choice. We have a choice whether to continue on this same path full of hardships and broken promises or a path of development, free education and jobs. We have a choice between the NDCs Wahala and the NPPs Development and I am confident, that the people of Ghana would make a clear choice of rejecting the current hardships for an era of development and progress.� Dr. Bawumia urged the people of the Upper West Region not to be deceived by the deceit and propaganda which has come to characterize the politics of some political parties as such parties are left with no choice but to follow the path of propaganda and lies because they have not shown real commitment to the people based on which they can campaign on issues for votes. Dr. Bawumia bemoaned the current state of massive unemployment with particular regards to the youth and the fact that even for the few who happen to secure placements in the National Youth Employment Scheme, they are refused their allowances several months running and have to depend on either their parents or lenders. He indicated that the policies and plans of the NPP, like the free Secondary education programme, the boosting of agriculture especially in the North and the general growth of the economy which would characterize the next NPP administration, would lead to massive job openings and opportunities for the youth of Ghana and the North specifically.
