NDP Officially Sues EC Over Konadu's Disqualification

The National Democratic Party has proceeded to file a writ at the Human Rights court towards compelling the Electoral Commission to allow its flagbearer Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings to contest the December elections. The former First Lady was disqualified following her inability to complete the filing processes. The partys lawyers gave the EC a 24 hour ultimatum to properly explain her disqualification or risk court action. Lawyer for the NDP flagbearer, Stanley Ahorlu stated that Nana Konadus disqualification violates the principles of democratic governance adding that the party had not received any official explanation from the Electoral Commission on why the Nana Konadus forms were rejected. However, the lawyers for the former First Lady have carried out that threat Wednesday morning by filing a writ at the Human Rights court.
