Election Taskforce Inaugurated

The Municipal Chief Executive for the Ejisu Juaben Assembly, Mr. Kwaku Afrifa Yamoah- Ponko, has inaugurated an election taskforce in the area. During the ceremony, the MCE appealed to members of the Task Force to ensure neutrality and circumspection in their dealings with electoral issues in the Municipality come December 7 charging them to help ensure peace before, during and after the elections. He was optimistic a serene atmosphere could be achieved through what he described as �a well coordinated action devoid of partisanship since the election bothers on the welfare and the security of the nation�. The MCE reiterated his commitment to equip the taskforce with the needed logistics to enable them remove any bottleneck that may impede their smooth operation. He also charged the municipal police commander, Mr. Joseph Awuah who is the chairman of the task force to be proactive and also maintain a culture of confidentiality since the task ahead of the team was enormous. Mr. Awuah assured the MCE of the team�s readiness to deliver but was quick to add that the task force needed to be re-enforced to ensure nothing untoward happens in the municipality. He noted that the task force would meet five times prior to the election to explore all avenues that would need security attention. Members of the task force include a BNI officer, MTTU Officer, Operations Officer of the Police Service, Deputy Coordinating Director and the Municipal Information Officer.
