MP Pilots Free SHS Policy In His Constituency

At a time the nation is grappling with the debate of whether the country has the capacity or otherwise to fund the much touted Free Senior High School policy, which has been proposed for implementation upon assumption of office by the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, a Member of Parliament has demystified the myth surrounding the debate. The Member of Parliament (MP) for Upper Denkyira West, Hon, Ben Ayeh has in a rare show of benevolence offered all students, a Free Senior High School education in his newly constructed state of the art 17 unit classroom for his constituents. Hon. Ben Ayeh has decided that, from this 2012/2013 Academic year, he is implementing a free SHS policy for all students who would gain admission into the newly constructed Ayanfuri Senior High School. The school which was constructed from the MPs share of the common fund; GETFUND, HIPC Fund and from his own resource base has come as a major leap in furthering and expanding the educational frontiers of the constituency. In all, about three hundred first year students are expected to be admitted in the school. So far the compound has two separate blocks , a two storey 12 classroom block and another five classroom block. Hon Ben Ayehs penchant belief in free for all education policy has also seen him establish four vocational centres in four towns within the constituency to also cater for persons who may not be interested in white collar education. The towns includes Dominase, Nkontimso, Ntom and Nkronua all in the Upper Denkyira West Constituency. He has also paid in full, school fees for over one hundred apprentices who recently graduated in hair dressing and dressmaking.
