Mensah Otabil Should Apologise To Prez Mahama Felix Ofosu Kwakye

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on the head pastor of the International Central Gospel Church, Pastor Mensah Otabil to apologise to President Mahama for linking him and the party to the so called doctored voice of the Pastor condemning some policies of the opposition NPP. The party has also rejected Pastor Mensah Otabils description of the actions of his detractors as bordering on criminality, malicious, evil, Machiavellian and defamatory.' Pastor Mensah Otabil Monday accused some members of the NDC of twisting his words to further their political agenda, and called on the President to call his party members to order. The renowned preacher is also calling for the withdrawal of an NDC advert based on some of his sermons in the past because he is being misrepresented in the said advert. The advert appears to ridicule the free SHS policy being touted by the NPP. However, a member of the NDC Communication Team, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, insists NDC as a party has not played any advert that has the voice of Pastor Mensah Otabil. Ofosu Kwakye also maintains that the voices being played in some radio stations have not been doctored as claimed by the renowned Pastor. Felix Kwakye Ofosu made the declarations on Adom TV on Multitv on Tuesday November 13, 2012. An earlier statement released by the John Mahama 2012 campaign said the preacher cannot ask the President to call to order people who are just putting out information. Emphasising this point, Mr. Kwakye rejected the designation of the persons who put out the tape as evil, saying the NPP was rather the evil party in Ghanas politics. NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Ablekuma West, Ms. Ursula Owusu who was also on the program however disagreed, saying the actions and inaction of the ruling party clearly showed they were not interested in the welfare of the ordinary Ghanaian. Citing the example of some NDC big wigs like Dr. Tony Aidoo saying Pastor Mensah Otabil has no integrity, Ms. Owusu said NDC has no respect for the clergy in the country.
