Baby Thief Grabbed

A 28-year-old woman reported to have stolen a six month-old baby boy from the parents at Abeka Lapaz has been grabbed by the Tesano Branch of the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU). Suspect Doris Eshun, a native of Elmina, unemployed, was grabbed at Abeka Lapaz Lorry Station on board a vehicle heading towards Kaneshie. Narrating the story to Daily Guide, father of the victim, Pastor Owusu Manu of Exceeding Faith Ministries, Lapaz, said the incident happened on Wednesday evening. On that fateful day, around 7pm, my wife Mrs. Beatrice Owusu moved to the top floor of our two-storey building to remove some clothing we hanged that morning. After waiting for some time, I also went up to help her remove the things since it was getting late while our child was left in our bedroom fast asleep, he said. Pastor Manu narrated that when they returned to their room with the items, the child was not in the babys court. We called for help and with the assistance of some neighbors, we managed to arrest the thief at the Abeka Lapaz trotro station, attempting to escape, he added. Pastor Manu said his sister, Mama Gladys, who spotted the suspect in the vehicle, was busily chatting with a nurse suspected to be her accomplice but the supposed nurse managed to escape. Suspect Doris Eshun was sitting comfortably with the nurse while the baby slept soundly on her lap. She was immediately arrested and handed over to the Tesano Police. ASP Experanza Ayesu-Danso, the Tesano Divisional DOVVSU officer, who confirmed the story to Daily Guide, added that information gathered indicated that the suspect had wanted to sell the child to a buyer. She said suspect Doris Eshun would be prosecuted after investigations were completed
