Four Presidential Candidates Outline Vision For Economy

At the GBC debate on Tuseday, the PPP'S candidate , Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom said the choice by the President and other candidates to participate in the private debate instead of the GBC's, shows how they are not committed to real job creation. He said the PPP will liaise with state and private organizations to create jobs. Dr. Nduom commended GBC for organizing the debate. On growth, Dr. Nduom said there is a problem of unemployment because of slow growth. He said the PPP will use local materials and natural resources to propel the growth of the when given the mandate. On the Economy, the PPP'S candidate said his government will use local materials and natural resources to propel the growth of the economy when elected as President. The Independent candidate, Jacob Osei Yeboah said his government will ensure an effective national planning programme that will spell out clearly sustainable steps that will be taken to keep the economy on sound footing. The GCPP's Dr. Henry Lartey said he will insist on domestication to revive the economy. He said Ghana will be a place everyone would like to be if the GCPP is given the mandate. The UFP candidate Akwesi Addae Odike for his part said he will encourage a Public- Private partnership to grow the economy. He said the necessary assistance will be given to groups to help build a strong economy.
