Prez Mahama Tours Eastern Region

President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday embarked on a three-day campaign tour of the Eastern Region with an appeal to the electorate to vote massively to return National Democratic Congress into power. He also appealed to them to conduct themselves professionally and diligently, since political elections are about trading of ideas, programmes and issues and not the use of violence to wrest power from opponents. President Mahama who started the campaign tour at Akosombo would among other areas visit Somanya, Agormanya, Koforidua, Begoro, Adukrom, Okere and Kyebi. He would also interact with chiefs, inspect and inaugurate development projects region and hold meetings with the party hierarchy. The President explained that the four years started by late President John Evans Atta Mills was for the laying of development foundation and victory for him in the 2012 general election would consolidate the gains. He said his government would not engage in untenable promises, but would rather continue to initiate human-centred programmes that would enhance individuals and groups in the society. President Mahama said government in the last four years built 12 new district hospitals, 10 new Polyclinics and 130 CHPS compounds throughout the country and promised to do better given the opportunity in the elections.
