Asante Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Dramani says it is necessary to tinker with his side due to changes in opposition.
The champions remain unbeaten this season and picked up a vital 2-1 win at Tema Youth on Sunday.
Kotoko have however not had a consistent team for the matches played so far this season in the Ghanaian top flight.
This has raised some concerns of the team�s inconsistencies this season.
But Dramani has defended his varied team selection saying it is based on the opposition.
�Every game comes with its own demands,�he said.
�And therefore you need to select players who will strengthen your team against the opposition.
�You could have a player play in one game but will not play in the next simply because you are not facing the same opposition.
�In this game for instance I had to take out a striker in order to protect my team and it worked.�
Kotoko have now broken into the top four with 14 points � just one behind leaders Aduana Stars after eight rounds of games.
