Ignore Partisan "Polls" - PPP Appeals To Ghanaians

The Progressive People's Party (PPP) has called on Ghanaians to reject the various circulating "propaganda polls" because they are "calculated to throw dust in the eyes of the people." According to the National Secretary of the PPP, Kofi Asamoah-Siaw, "these are propaganda polls of value only to their sponsors." He intimates that the supposed polls are designed to allow the two political parties to "continue to use intimidation, steal and buy votes then declare the results 'free and fair'." Pollster, Ben Ephson in a recvent poll predicted a 52.2 per cent, one touch victory for incumbent president John Mahama in the December 7 General elections while other polls, including the one conducted by the Bureau of National Investigations also predicted victories for the incumbent. However, Kofi Asamoah-Siaw indicates that, "We know the newspapers and media outlets who are condoning such intellectual dishonesty. Ghanaians are wide awake and will not allow the dictatorship of the NDC and NPP to prevail once more. Ghana will not go backwards and risk becoming a one party state." "The vote - the power - is firmly in the hands of the people. No one today has even one vote. The PPP trusts the wisdom of the Ghanaian people to see through these orchestrated, biased personal opinions masquerading as opinion polls done with professional integrity." According to him, "The hypocrisy of some leaders who will sign a peace agreement and look on unconcerned just hours later while their supporters shoot, stab and intimidate people whose only crime is to belong to opposing political parties is beyond belief. Ghanaians must reject the warmongers on Friday!"
