Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), says the party's victory at the December 7 polls was designed by God.
According to Asiedu Nketia, the outcome of the polls showed the trust and confidence Ghanaians had in the NDC and ensured that government will continue with the Better Ghana agenda to alleviate plight of the citizenry.
Mr Asiedu Nketiah, who was addressing thousands of NDC supporters at a victory rally in Sunyani, stated that the manner Ghanaians conducted themselves before and during this year�s election was highly commendable.
He noted that election 2012 was the most peaceful and transparent election conducted in the history of Ghana�s democracy.
He said the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had the right to challenge the outcome of the election results.
The NDC General Secretary pointed out that the international media and other foreign observers, who were in the country to observe the election, had praised Ghana for the free, fair and transparency manner it was conducted.
Mr Asiedu Nketiah said the NPP �is fighting a lost battle� as its leadership had no concrete evidence to confirm their claim of electoral malpractice.
He assured Ghanaians that their security was guaranteed as the government was already prepared to deal with any act that could jeopardize national peace and stability.
Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan, National Organiser of the NDC, reiterated that the presence of the party agents, election observers and security personnel at all the 26,000 polling stations attested to the transparent manner Election 2012 was conducted.
He called on supporters of the NDC and Ghanaians in general not to be worried but to celebrate the NDC victory with patience as the groundwork is in place for the swearing in of President John Dramani Mahama in January 2013.
Kwakwo Nyamekye-Marfo, Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, said the region saw tremendous development under the Better Ghana agenda in the past four years that that is why the party won 16 out of the region�s 29 parliamentary seats.
He noted that Brong-Ahafo used to be a stronghold of the NPP but that the NDC was able to win more votes and seats because of the level of development that it achieved in the sectors of health, roads, agriculture and education.
Mr Nyamekye-Marfo commended supporters of the party for their commitment and support during the campaign.
