National Service Scheme Receives 11 Yutong Buses

The Ghana National Service Scheme has taken delivery of eleven 35-seater Yutong buses donated by the Ministry of Education. Out-going Minister of Education, Lee Ocran presented them to the Executive Director of the Scheme Mr. Vincent Senam Kuagbenu. The buses which are to be used for the welfare of the staff - to help in their transportation from one point to another - would be distributed to the ten regions with one for the head office. Mr Lee Ocran commended the scheme for its work in helping young graduates to adapt to the living and working conditions in the country since its set-up in 1973. He highlighted the successes chalked by the Scheme�s exploits in the various agricultural projects including crop farming, fish, rabbits, poultry and pig farming. He said government is willing to support the scheme, noting, �Every means that can be used to make them feel comfortable will be adopted.� The Minister cautioned the scheme to carefully maintain the buses to prolong their lifespan and thus serve its purposes for a measurable time. After the presentation of the symbolic keys, Mr. Vincent Senam Kuagbenu expressed gratitude on behalf of the Scheme to the Ministry of Education and the government for the support.
