The Achimota sub-station of the Electricity Company of Ghana was on Saturday gutted by fire during a heavy downpour.
According to reports, the raging fire started a while after Saturday�s rain set in. Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service, battled for several hours before they eventually put it out.
The ECG Achimota sub-station is a huge facility that serves many areas in Accra including Pig Farm, Achimota, Kotobabi, parts of Dzorwulu and Abelenkpe, and residents in those areas will spend the night in darkness.
