After Fatau Dauda picked two balls from the back of the net in Ghana's opening fixture at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, he has ensured that no ball has gone past him in the last two matches.
The Black Stars goalkeeper secured his second shut-out of the tournament on Monday after helping Ghana to a 3-0 win over Niger. That performance was preceded by a 1-0 victory against Mali and a 2-2 draw against DR Congo in the opening match.
Fatau insists he is picking valuable lessons from his coaches to ensure that he can keep clean sheets and help Ghana win.
�Football is about learning,� Fatau told www.ghanafa.org in response to a question about how excited he was to have prevented any goals in two consecutive games.
�I learn and I listen to my trainer. After every match we look at the clip, see my mistakes and they correct me and when we get to training, he teaches me.
�That is what has helped me a lot to keep a clean sheet.�
With three Nations Cup games under his belt, Fatau's debut tournament appears to be success as Ghana berths into the quarter-finals where they meet Cape Verde on Saturday.
But he admits that though happy to play a part, he wants the Black Stars to work hard if they really want to go far.
�This tournament, every country came in with a strong mentality so we need to go out and play well if only we want to win the Cup,� the Black Stars goalkeeper said.
�Cape Verde is a very good side so we need to prepare well and be ready for them.�
