We Are Ready To Face The Police

The leadership of the Let My Vote Count group has indicated to Citi News they are talking with their lawyers and will duly honour the invitation of the Madina Police on Thursday. The Madina Police Command on Wednesday invited the leadership of the group for questioning following the launch of their activities over the weekend. Speaking on Citi FMs Eyewitness News on Wednesday, a member of the group, David Asante stated that the Police have a stand and we are still in touch with our lawyers and then we will recompose ourselves properly to meet the Police and respond to their invitation. According to Mr. Asante, the leadership and members of the Let My Vote Count group respect and believe in the rule of law which governs the country and therefore they were well aware of the implications if we dont play by the rules of the game and if we dont conform to the constitutional provision and if we dont seek the appropriate permission to organize such a programme. He however failed to disclose the stance of the group concerning the invitation by the Madina Police Command. Some leading members of the group include, the New Patriotic Partys (NPP) Sammy Awuku, Ernest Owusu Bempah of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Abu Ramadan of the Peoples National Convention (PNC) and Charles Owusu of the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP).
