Osofo Turns Armed Robber

Samuel, a native of Feyiases neighbouring Kokobliko village, however, managed to escape and went underground until last Thursday when the police arrested him. Briefing newsmen at Feyiase-Akoyem, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Augustine Gyenning, revealed that Samuel was only released from prison in November 2011 after serving 10 years. Following confessions Samuel is said to have made to the police, DCOP Gyenning said the gang was formed when all the members were serving respective years in prisons. The gang operated on both sides of the Ivorian/Ghanaian border, with banks, financial institutions, super markets, fuel stations, among others, being their main targets. The police capo said Samuel had been very co-operative, ready confessed to a series of robberies that had happened in the Kumasi metropolis. We are currently doing further investigations into this matter before we arraign him as soon as practicable. Meanwhile, the Command appeals to the general public, especially victims of armed robberies, to come to the Regional Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to identify the suspect to ease our investigations and prompt prosecutions, he said.
