NDC Communicator: It Was A Brilliant Idea To Get A Befitting House For The Presidency

A member of the Communications team of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fred Agbenyo has supported the Presidents initiative to relocate his office to the Flagstaff House but says his security should be the nations top priority. Though raising concerns about the security of the President, Mr. Agbenyo believed the establishment of the Presidential Palace to serve as the official seat of government was a brilliant idea. He said it was appropriate to have a befitting place to house the Heads of State, for that matter President Mahamas decision is a step in the right direction. A statement released by the Information Ministry on Tuesday indicated that President John Mahama will relocate to the Flagstaff House to commence his official duties. A ceremony, according to the Sector Minister, Mahama Ayariga, will be held on Thursday, February 7 to commemorate President Mahamas relocation. Fred Agbenyo, on Peace FM's "kokrokoo" programme, feared President Mahamas safety may be compromised. I am not a security expert but even from a laymans perspective. Looking at the location of the Flagstaff House, somebody with a sniper can stand on the very last floor to perpetrate any crime. According to him, though National Security may have done thorough checks on the edifice before advising the President to move to the Flagstaff House, we cant take the security of the President for granted.
