NDC Should Apologize To Ghanaians Concerning Flagstaff House

The ruling National Democratic Congress(NDC) has been asked to apologize to Ghanians. Atik Mohammed, a policy Analyst of the People's National Convention(PNC) believes if the President has decided to move into the Jubilee House, then he needs to apologize on behalf of the NDC, because they accused the erstwhile Kufuor administration and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of misusing the tax payers money to construct build such a huge edifice. They swore not to enter that facility with all kinds of flimsy excuses. Are they telling us that the place is now safe for them to stay? he retorted. President John Mahama on Thursday officially moved to the Flagstaff House which remains the seat of government, to commence his executive and administrative duties. His decision to move into the former Jubilee House came as a surprise to some pundits and politicians especially with the backdrop that former President John Evans Atta Mills (of blessed memory), a man he (Prez Mahama) considers his mentor said he was not going to occupy. However, others have welcomed the decision saying it is a step in the right direction. Contributing to panel discussion on Peace FMs flagship programme, kokrokoo, on Thursday, Atik Mohammed considers the move as an act of hypocrisy. He alluded to the fact that because the NDC accused the NPP of using state funds to build the Jubilee House, they should apologize and retract that statement because that is the same house they are going to work in. This issue has really exposed members of the NDC. When the facility was being built, there made all kinds of arguments. They made all kinds of ridiculous excuses; security, positioning of the facility and so on...this is hypocrisy. I am not even buying their explanation that they have investigated and are handling issues like security carefully now...they should apologize to Ghanaians. "They need to tell them(Ghanaians) that they are sorry for their initial comments concerning the facility. They should explain to us the amount of money that was used again for renovation before the president agreed to go into it. The NDC is clearly establishing its true colours that for us we survive on lies and propaganda, he told Tweneboah Kodua.
