Ghanaians Asked To Disregard Death Prophecy About Prez Mahama

Head Pastor at the Cedar Mountain Chapel Reverend Dr Steve Wengham has asked Ghanaians to totally disregard a prophecy by Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah that President John Dramani Mahama will not survive the year. According to Rev. Wengham, both the content and the approach of the prophecy do not suggest it comes from God. Speaking on TV3s late night news broadcast programme News @ 10 on Tuesday, Rev. Wengham defined a prophecy as a message from God while a prophet is someone who speaks the mind of God. He said I Corinthians 14:3 says a prophecy comes to edify and exhort among other good things. The prophecy of the head pastor of Glorious Word Ministry International, therefore, does not fulfil the purposes of prophecies, Rev Wengham said. He cited that when Isaiah was asked to pronounce the death of King Hezekiah of Israel, the prophet went to the palace to inform the king privately. He said the approach of Rev. Owusu Bempah was totally wrong and could affect the family of President Mahama psychologically. King-gods Rev. Wengham lamented the extent to which some pastors and prophets are going with regard to their ministries. Prophets are human beings, he told presenter Bright Nana Amfoh. Some prophets are beginning to make themselves king-gods, he lamented. It is becoming increasingly embarrassing calling myself a pastor. He advised media houses not to allow their platforms to churn out this kind of prophecies. Asked the rationale behind his call for national security operatives to abduct Rev Owusu Bempah for interrogation, Rev Wengham said: I was pushed because I think it is becoming too much. He said there should be a legislation that should enjoin all pastors and prophets to be attached to Christian bodies such as the Ghana Pentecostal Council and the Christian Council of Ghana.
