Some unknown people have threatened to assassinate Andy Owusu, a loyal supporter of former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings in Kumasi. Andy, a harsh critic of the Mahama administration in the Ashanti region, claimed his attackers have been sending threatening messages to his mobile phone lately. One of the alleged messages sent to Andys phone from a mobile number 0244411708 which Daily Guide sighted read, You are going to die in the end of this week sooo. Andy is the National Coordinator of Free Education Now Prayer Group, a pressure group which he formed last week to champion the cause of under-privileged Ghanaian children, who have gained admission to Senior High School. The ex-National Democratic Party (NDP) youth leader in the Ashanti region alleged that he usually receives threatening messages on his phone anytime he lambasts the NDC government, particularly President John Mahama on radio. Andy insisted that the threatening messages started immediately he launched his pressure group which received extensive media coverage across the country. The outspoken ex-NDP youth leader said he reported the matter to the Suame Police on Monday but so far nobody has been apprehended over what he termed as a serious issue. He noted that he called the number, which was used to send the threatening messages severally but the culprits refused to answer his call. Andy said he was not afraid of the threatening messages, saying I have done nothing wrong to die therefore I am not afraid. He said it was disheartening that in a technological era children could be denied admission to senior high school education due to lack of money on the part of their parents and guardians. This, he said, informed his decision to champion the rights of underprivileged children, stressing if I lose my life because of this worthy cause then so be it. Andy, who was furious, accused NDC hoodlums for being behind the assassination attempt on his life. I always receive the threatening messages anytime I lambast President Mahama. He stated that President Mahama rather deserves to die, stressing that the Presidents clandestine activities with known gay people would result in Gods fury against the country. President Mahama deserves to die because he wants to bring Gods fury against innocent Ghanaians for his activities with Andrew Solomon and not me who has done nothing wrong, he claimed. Andy descended heavily on the National Peace Council for keeping mute over the Presidents alleged relationship with Andy Solomon, noting that the president is not above the law so he should be condemned whenever he errs.
