MP Jabs Mahama Over Light Offs

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejura Sekyeredumase in the Ashanti region, Salisu Bamba is not happy about the current power crisis in the country. The New Patriotic Party (NPP) legislator tasked President John Dramani Mahama to thoroughly offer explanation to Ghanaians over the protracted power crisis. In an interview with DAILY GUIDE, the Ejura/Sekyeredumase MP said when Ghana encountered power supply problems in the past, the people were made to understand that the Akosombo Dam was running at low capacity. The genuine explanation offered by the then government, he said, allowed the people to adjust themselves to the situation to support the government to overcome the challenge. Hon. Bamba said unlike previous administrations, the current NDC government has failed woefully to offer credible alternatives. The MP, who studied Islamic Studies at University of Jordan, said government failed to predict the end of the power crisis. These revelations, he pointed out, were ample proof that the NDC government was not capable of managing the affairs of about 25 million Ghanaians. Commenting on the State of the Nation Address, Hon. Bamba, a graduate of University of Ghana, Legon said, It was full of the normal broken promises of a typical NDC government. He said the president gave a wrong state of the nation to the populace, stressing that the NPP would on Tuesday hold a press conference to give Ghanaians the true state of the country. Hon. Bamba, who was pessimistic about the future of Ghana under the Mahama administration, said the presidents address was full of lies. Where would the government get money to fund its intended projects? he quizzed. Ghanaians, he pointed out, are discerning people and advised President Mahama to refrain from making lengthy promises.
