The Deputy Majority Chief Whip of Parliament, Hon. Sampson Ahi, has warned members of the NPP to refrain from talking about the state of the economy since they have no �moral justification� talking about an economy they mismanaged during their tenure. The Bodi MP, indicated that if the nation was searching for institutions and political parties to probe the work of the NDC, then it is surely not a party like the NPP that made the Ghanaian economy produce bad smell. �If we are looking for people with the moral right and justification to probe the NDC�s work and our economic management, then it isn�t a party like the NPP that made our economy stink,� he stated. Hon. Sampson Ahi, was reacting to the Minority Caucus in Parliament�s presentation on the �True State of the Nation Address� which was held on Wednesday, February 27. The Minority Caucus, led by Hon Osei-Kyei Mensah-Bonsu on Wednesday, presented what they considered to be the �True State of the Nation Address� at a news conference in Parliament and highlighted on several issues; which informs them that the NDC government is mismanaging the economy. To summarize the condition of our economy, the minority observed that; �standards of living are falling, life is becoming unbearable, and our people are getting poorer. Public financing are out of control and the economy is in trouble�. In an interview with Okay FM, Hon. Ahi stated that in the capacity as the president of the republic, President John Mahama presented to Ghanaians what the true state of the economy was, and this should have informed the minority that they had no validation to organize another one. The Member of Parliament for Bodi, also urged Ghanaians to take it from him that the NPP fully recognize the supremacy of President Mahama and were only heckling him because they want to �make this country ungovernable for him�. �They already told us that they don�t recognize President Mahama as the president of Ghana...but you wonder why these same people would rush for their �long pens and notebooks� to record and respond to an address by the person they said they don�t recognize as president,� Hon. Ahi wondered. He further dared the NPP to prove him wrong if they believe they don�t recognize the presidential power vested in John Mahama. "It is out of clear conspiracy that they want to destabilize Ghana, otherwise, there is absolutely no sense in their action to respond to what the President of Ghana has said. Clearly, within the NPP they recognize the president as such but it is their evil agenda that is making them act like they are doing,� he said.
