ET Mensah Fires GWCL Boss: You Are Defending Your Incompetence With "Unprofessional" Lies

Former Works and Housing Minister, Hon. E.T. Mensah, has scrolled out of his shell to respond categorically to allegations by the Managing Director of Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL), Mr. Kweku Botwe, to the effect that he has put in place mechanisms to oust him out of office because he has prevented him from duping the nation. In an earlier interview the Managing Director of Ghana Company Limited granted on Okay FM, he accused Hon. E.T. Mensah of collaborating with the Herald newspaper to churn out lies about the diligent works he did before the committee set up by E.T. Mensah asked him to go on leave. One of the committees allegations Mr. Botwe denied flatly, was the creation of a system at Amasaman by name Messrs K. Adu Construction and Plumbing Works Limited, to callously bill consumers three times the price of the mandated rate by the Public Utility Regulatory Commission (PURC). According to Mr. Botwe, his deliberate move to protect the nations coffers has spiked Hon. Mensah to jettison the terms of reference and choose to vilify Kweku Botwe, because Kweku Botwe stands in the way of people who want to steal from this country. But reacting to the above claim on the same platform, Hon. E.T. Mensah responded that it was unprofessional on the part of Mr. Kwesi Botwe to be hopping from one radio station to the other to defend his incompetence with lies. Hon. E.T Mensah stated that the four reports that indicted Mr. Botwes has nothing to do with neither NDC nor NPP and was never calculated to dent his image. If Mr. Botwe really believes that he is a clean figure, then there are procedures for him to follow...he awarded a contract to himself without using the appropriate board (which he shouldnt have done) on GHC 1,25O,OOO for early fire warning system, for which there was no budget provision...he went everywhere and lied to the people, so I called him and told him that(Kweku), you can lie and deceive some of the people some of the time, you can deceive all the people some of the time but you cant deceive all the people all the time and that the lies would catch up with you, Hon. E. T. Mensah said.
