Mahama's Inability To Arrest Chris Brown Shows He Is Not A Good President

The former Member of Parliament (MP) for Asikuma-Odobeng-Brakwa constituency, Paul Collins Appiah- Ofori, has called on Ghanaians to blame the President for the shameful and immoral behavior of the American rhythms and blues superstar, Chris Brown, while performing at Hope City Concert. It is about time we had a President who would not turn a blind eye to the very things that would come to destroy the moral fabric our society. For that matter, I blame the President because the executive authority of Ghana is vested in the President. So I expect him to stamp his authority and bring to book the perpetrators of such despicable acts, he stated passionately. Speaking on the Accra-based Asempa FM, the anti- corruption crusader added his voice to the many condemning Chris Brown for using vulgar language, promoting the use of marijuana and going further to smoke it on stage before thousands of Ghanaian youth at the Hope City concert in Accra, the night before Ghanas 56th Independence day. According to the former law-maker; it is illegal to smoke weed, sell weed or do anything in connection to weed. I know there are cases before our courts that are connected with the issue of weed. The law does not say it is only a Ghanaian who would be breaking the law by dealing in the illegal substance, but anyone within the boundaries of this country, regardless of their nationality. If this young man was able to arrogantly stand in public and smoke weed without showing respect to our laws then the National Democratic Congress government must be held responsible for not causing his arrest, he stated. P.C. Appiah-Ofori added that, the heads of the Ghana Police Service must be condemned in the strongest possible terms for their inaction with regards to the issue unless they want to tell us they did not see or hear what the boy did. The former legislator further castigated the President by saying, his inability to arrest Chris Brown shows that he is not a good President. If you are a President and you do not punish people for these completely unacceptable actions to serve as a preventive measure, then you are not a good President, he accused President Mahama.
