14-Year-Old Boy Beheaded In Kumasi

A 14-year-old boy has been beheaded in Abuakwa a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. The boy, Akwasi Yeboah, a form 2 student of Tweneboa Kodua Primary and JHS was beheaded in the early hours of Monday by an unidentified assailant. According to Hello FMs Sampson Kwame Nyamekye who reported on the horrifying incident, Akwasi Yeboah belonged to the family of a late Pastor; Johnson Opoku who is yet to be buried. According to him and per the reports of eye witnesses, the wife of the late Pastor and her two children were sleeping when the assailant entered the room, got hold of Akwasi Yeboah and beheaded him. Felicity Opoku, the mother was stabbed severally in her attempt to save her son; so was her 16-year-old daughter; Akosua Akyaa (sibling of Akwasi Yeboah). However, another relative, Ama, who was also in the house was unharmed but is currently in a state of shock. The only information she could give was that the assailant was short and masked. Eye witnesses and residents who have been interviewed so far suspect foul play. They are confident that it wasnt a robbery case since the assailant looked through with a torch light due to power outage, until he found Akwasi Yeboah (per the report of Ama). The mother and daughter survived and have been admitted at the emergency unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), while the body as well as the head of Akwasi Yeboah has been deposited at the Morgue.
