New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, has admitted that Ghanaian owned telecommunication and technological company, rLG is capable of building the tallest building in Africa, the �Hope City�. The President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama on Monday March 4, 2013 cut the sod for the construction of a $10 billion ICT park dubbed HOPE City, by rLG. The rLG powered project which can be likened to Silicon Valley, will have six towers of different dimensions, one tower is 270m height (75 storeys, the highest in Africa), two towers of 216m (60 storeys), and three towers of 152m height (42 storeys). Speaking on Adom FM, the out spoken NPP MP said that he disagrees with any group of persons who do not have the faith that a Ghanaian businessman can build such a magnificent building looking at its miniature. �I have documents with information on Ghanaian companies but because of their mutual corrupt with the government, I am sometimes forced to comment but within me, I appreciate a Ghanaian who can work for a better development,� he said. �A radio station asked me that president Mahama and rLG have cut a sod for the construction of a $10 billion Hope City, and I told the journalist if they are able to build that it�s good. He (journalist) then asked why I thought they could do it, then I quizzed the reporter, why don�t he have faith that rLG can do it? If a foreigner is to build it, he would believe. Because he (the journalist) thinks rLG is for a Ghanaian he wants to raise objections that the Hope City wouldn�t be impossible. �He (Roland Agambire) can do it; we should give him the chance. But sometimes I wonder why businessmen have to hide behind government to operate. I don�t know whether it�s fear or panic. I am forced to mention names but for some reason as a businessman myself I wouldn�t because some might think its hatred, but we must put Ghana first,� Ken said this on Accra- based Adom FM Friday morning. Meanwhile, the Communications Director of the Opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea is purported to have also said �the $10billion project to build a one-stop development enclave in Ghana by rLG Communications Limited is commendable and deserves the support of all who claim to have the country�s development and progress at heart.�
