Reverend Joseph Bosomah, Acting Chairperson of the Central Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, has appealed to the Supreme Court to speed up trial of the election petition before it so as to reduce political tension in the country. He said the presidency had a period of tenure and any delay in the case could affect social, economic and political development of the country. He also appealed to supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to be patient while the Supreme Court handled the petition challenging election 2012. �Ghana�s democracy must be consolidated,� he said at the inauguration of the Gomoa Mission Field Evangelism Drive at the Gomoa Denkyira branch of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana at Denkyira. The theme was �Suffering for a purpose�. Rev. Bosomah expressed the hope that the supporters of both petitioners and respondents would accept the verdict of the Supreme Court in order to move the country forward. He commended President John Dramani Mahama for making a personal appeal to the teachers to call off the strike and expressed the hope that the teachers would go back to the classroom.
