Deputy Communications Director of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Boabeng Asamoah has stated categorically that until the Supreme Court gives a final ruling on the 2012 election petition, His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama is just a caretaker President. �President Mahama�s supremacy as a president is just half, and that is the fact. I am categorically stating that until the outcome of the election petition, he (President) is not fully recognized; he is at the edge of the seat because it is not fully legitimate, the political legitimacy is lacking. We all don�t recognize him as our President. �The legal legitimacy though is given to him by the constitution, but the Article 64 (2) says even if there is a problem; the president should be recognized; that is what is worrying us. It�s an issues because if the President has not been sworn in, like he wouldn�t even get the chance to be that half president,� he said. Speaking on an Accra-based Asempa FM, the NPP communicator however allot blames to the Electoral Commission Chairman, Afari Gyan for causing all this controversy and called on him to come out publicly and provide the rightful 2012 election result. �Afari Gyan is not doing Ghana any favour, he was paid to monitor the election so it�s his duty to come out publicly and present to Ghanaians whether he was able to achieve his work or there was lapses. He is supposed to clarify the outcome of the 2012 election but that is what he is not doing,� he said. He further said that, eligible voters did not benefit from the EC since the 2012 election under the supervision of Dr. Afari Gyan was poorly conducted with enormous rigging nationwide.
