My Biggest Challenge In Life Has Been Money Okyeame Kwame

Last week, Okyeame Kwame celebrated his 37th birthday. In an exclusive life interview, Okyeame Kwame recounted his journey so far and the targets hes set for himself going ahead into the future. In a lengthy interview, Okyeame Kwame told Kojo Akoto Boateng on Kumasi-based Ultimate Radio that irrespective of the successes hes chalked over the years he believes he has not arrived yet. For the next three years, I want everyone in all the Anglophone countries in Africa to know Okyeame Kwame, which is why I signed the deal with Empire Entertainment. If Im able to achieve that, then Id say I have arrived, he said. He added that: Until I work to achieve what the likes of Lumba, Kojo Antwi and Amakye Dede have achieved, I will still not say Ive arrived because consistently over decades they have churned out world- class hits and until I do more than that, I wont say I have arrived. Okyeame Kwame also revealed that his biggest challenge in his 37 year life has been money. My biggest challenge has been money, money to be able to do the things I want to do, money to accentuate my brand to where I want to be and money to do good for the society, he explained. At 37, Kwame Nsiah Appau has a very beautiful wife, a son and a daughter, a flourishing record label and an advertising agency. Hes also won several local and international awards, done extensive philanthropy and is one of the forces to reckon on the African continent but Kwame says hes hungry to do more and has advised young, up and coming artistes to strive only for the best. What I want to tell up and coming artistes is that my brand Okyeame Kwame didnt begin to make money readily. I first established my reputation and people fell in love with the quality. So for my friends coming up I urge you to put your music on the edge, let people expect great things from you, let people expect excellence from you, make music like your life depended on it and music lovers will worship your craft, he said. Till date, Okyeame Kwame has seven albums to his credit; three of them solo and four as a member of Akyeame. Visit his website www.okyeamekwame.com for more information, music, videos and more.
