Mr James Quarshie-Idun, Counsel for the Electoral Commission (EC) is continuing with his cross examination of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, as hearing on the election petition case at the Supreme Court begins to gather momentum. Mr Quarshie-Idun began his cross examination of the witness on Wednesday when Mr Tony Lithur, Counsel for President John Dramani Mahama, first respondent, eventually brought his interrogation session to a close. As he took on the petitioners� star witness, Mr Quarshie Idun commenced his cross examination on a number of issues including the relevance of political party agents at polling stations during elections, alleged ghost polling stations and duplicated pink sheets. Dr Bawumia is second petitioner in the election dispute case currently being handled by the Supreme Court. The EC and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are second and third respondents respectively. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo, flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the December 2012 general election, and Mr Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, Chairman of the NPP are first and third petitioners respectively in the case.
