Doctors Should Heed To The Pleas Of Ghanaians - Chris Ackumey

Member of the legal team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Chris Ackumey has called on doctors to heed to the plea of the people of Ghana and call off their strike. Speaking on Citi FMs weekend current affairs program The Big Issue, he noted that: We are pleading with them, we dont want more loss of lives, he said. Members of the Ghana Medical Association have been on strike for over two weeks demanding that government makes a written commitment to instruct the Controller and Accountant General to restore the payment of conversion difference and refund the arrears with a payment schedule. According to Chris Ackumey, the efforts of the tax payers sent them (doctors) to the medical school...their contributions have maintained them in the government bungalows they are staying in. They should know that enough is enough." He called on government officials to desist from criticizing the actions of doctors as a means of compelling them return to work.
