The Deputy Director of Communication for the NDP, Ernest Owusu Bempah has stated that the absence of the founder of the NDC in the 2012 election campaign has resulted in this abysmal ending of which the results are being challenged at the Supreme Court. According to him, the inability of the Ex-President JJ Rawlings to join the NDC in the 2012 election campaign was due to the rigging nature which occurred in Sunyani during the delegates congress to elect a flagbearer for the party; adding that the then Presidential aspirant, Mrs. Konadu Rawlings was cheated in the polls which she had 3.1%. Speaking on Okay FM, he said that the rigging which happened at the Sunyani delegates congress was a dress rehearsal of what was going to happen in Ghana; stressing that �nobody understood me when I was complaining bitterly about the rigging in the NDC 2012 congress�. He further expressed satisfaction that there has been a court case against the results emanating from the 2012 elections, saying that �NDC thought this could go on without being checked at the general elections but now it has been proven that this could not go on forever�. He again said that the NDC was confident that based on what happened in Sunyani, the 2012 elections were going to be a foregone conclusion as it was indicated by some party hierarchy that they can win the elections without Ex-President Rawlings and his wife. He recounted that even though the NDC leaders will not admit and accept that the absence of Rawlings in the campaign had affected the party in the 2012 elections, it is now clear that �if Ex-President Rawlings had mounted the campaign platform to campaign vigorously, there would not have been a court case with the results. He therefore pleaded with Ghanaians to exercise patience and called on God to help the judges to come out with the justice the nation is seeking to prevail; hinting that at the end of the court case some people in the country will be publicly disgraced.
