Election Petition: Tsatsu Will Sink Bawumia Today - Ato Dadzie

The Spokesperson for the Respondents legal team in the ongoing election petition at the Supreme Court, Nana Ato Dadzie has told XYZ News that the Counsel for the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata will be sinking the key witness, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in court today as he continues his cross-examination. Nana Ato Dadzie said: Well be going deeper and well see Mr.Tsatsu Tsikata, as it were, sinking Dr Bawumia more, you know, in his evidence. He said Mr Tsikata will be producing a lot more information to tear into shreds, the evidence that [Dr Bawumia] gave in chief. Mr. Tsikata began cross examining Dr. Bawumia on Monday April 29, 2013 after the Electoral Commissions Counsel; Mr. Quashie-Idun ended his cross examination of the second Petitioner in the case in which the credibility and validity of the results of the 2012 presidential and parliamentary elections have been called into question by three Petitioners. The main opposition New Patriotic Partys (NPP) 2012 Flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, his Running mate Dr. Bawumia and the Partys National Chairman, Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey claim over 4 million votes must be annulled by the Supreme Court, since, in their view, the elections were fraught with violations, omissions and irregularities. President John Mahama, the Electoral Commission and the governing party are the three Respondents in the case. After Mr. Tsikatas first day of cross examination, Nana Ato Dadzie told the media: Its been a wonderful day today; very exciting; weve seen the best of legal practise as Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata, as was expected, took on Dr Bawumia. He added that: Dr Bawumia is a very intelligent person, I must admit, but clearly he met his match today in Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata, who, according to Nana Ato Dadzie, set out to crumble Dr. Bawumias evidence in Chief.
