NPP Communicator: Tsatsu Tsikata Is Not Making Any Impact With His Cross-Examination

A member of the communication team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Opoku Davis has stated that the issues Dr. Bawumia has raised before the Supreme Court have not been refuted, but rather the lawyers of the respondents have admitted that there were administration errors which according to him are in the areas of irregularities, malpractices which the CI75 speaks against in the 2012 election. He said Ghanaians now can accept that the country has a President who was declared by means of administrational errors; in that it is clear the declaration of candidate John Mahama by Dr. Afari Gyan was an error. Speaking on Okay FM, the NPP communicator said that there were ground rules for which the 2012 election was conducted and so if the election went contrary to the rules, then it is the responsibility of the judges of the Supreme Court to put the matter to its rightful perspective. According to Opoku Davis, the issues before the Supreme Court is about law and not grammar and neither is the case about who is drilling the other; but to him the case is about the irregularities and malpractices which the first and the second counsels have admitted to have occurred during the 2102 elections. He again said, it is obvious that the much talked-about Tsatsu Tsikata in this case has brought nothing new to the on-going cross-examination, as all NDC members are hailing him; stressing that he has not made any impact or change the trend of the cross-examination. Tsatsu Tsikata only spoke big English and rushing on Dr. Bawumia to commit him to error, but he did not make any impact in his cross-examination, based on what has happened on TV, he insisted. He further said that Dr. Bawumia has demonstrated in his responses to the cross-examinations that he is focused and unperturbed and that he has done his analysis which the documents he has presented before the Supreme Court support his claims. He therefore said that whether Tsatsu Tsikata or all the lawyers of NDC cross-examine Dr. Bawumia or not all that we are saying is that there were irregularities and malpractices which occurred in the 2012 elections which has effect on the declared results. He assessed that based on the evidence on the face of the pink sheets, the Electoral Commissioner should not have declared candidate John Mahama as President when there was earlier complains before the declaration was made.
