Gov't To Look For Options For Gas Supply After WAPCO Failure

Government has stated its disappointment over the failure of the West African Gas Company to supply gas to Ghana from this week. Gas supply from Nigeria has been disrupted since last year, necessitating a nationwide load shedding exercise. Government was expecting WAPCO to resume supply this week to end the power rationing. But according to the company, it cannot supply gas now due to some uncompleted works. Communication Specialist at the Energy Ministry Edward Bawa in an interview with XYZ News said although the ministry is disappointed, it is relying on other local plants to end the load shedding. Mr. Bawa added thats with this development government must secure funds to purchase more crude for power supply.
